I'm leaving on a jet plane.

OK, so it wasn't a jet plane and I did come right back after about 45 minutes.

Adam Anderson offered to take either Tom or me up to fly around Nevada County. Tom volunteered me. I decided to be a big, brave girl and do it. Never before had I been in such a teensy plane. Adam behaved himself and didn't do any loops, flips, or turn the engine off. Just tilting to look down below us, caused me to clutch his arm. Overall, I can say that I enjoyed it.

I tried to get a shot of our house without seeing it. I could pick out a few landmarks so I knew the area. It wasn't until I looked at this and enlarged it that I found it - smack dab in the middle of the photo. I'm sure Google Earth will be calling.

*Tom just discovered that by clicking on the photo, you can see it much larger and actually see in our windows - well not quite, but almost.

Danger, Will Robinson

What's that buzzing going on around my head? Could it be the Jupiter 2 thinking that they've spotted an uncharted planet on the back of my head? Can't they see that the atmosphere is thickening around the bristley orb?
Meredith and I are sporting our new haircuts. She's never had such a short one before, and I think it looks pretty darn cute on her. A little gel and she's good to go. I, on the other hand, am missing twirling the longer locks from the patch, as Tom likes to call it.

Birthday Banner

This was a long time coming. I knew I wanted to make a banner for Cambelle and her family, and once I found this pattern, I fell in love with it. I'm pretty sure I must have been on steroids when I decided to make it. I figured, "Why not - I may as well make one for each of my children, for their children, someday." What was I thinking? Thankfully, I cut them all out at the same time or I may have lost interest.
It's made with felt, embroidery floss, and a some buttons. The number in the center is buttoned on and is changeable for each family member. I made 1 through 9 on larger squares and enough interchangeable, single digit, narrower ones all the way to 99. I had better get to stitching with that grand-baby coming. At the rate I've been working, it make take until it's 1st birthday.

I finally get to blab...

Do you know how hard it is to keep a secret for a LONG time? They made me and I didn't blow it! Listen up everybody: Naida and Phillip are expecting their first child! She had a sono-gram and the doctor gave her a due date of August 24th. From what I hear, that little one is very active. One thing I know for sure, blonde hair and blue eyes.
Congratulations you two! I can't wait to get my hands on that sweet little bundle.
