Knowing

Often, while gardening, I'm reminded of God and His truths. Most of the time it has to do with weeds and sin. There's an unwanted wild shrub-type plant growing next to a rose bush, that's hard to get to. I just keep cutting it off close to the surface, and without fail, it comes back bigger and stronger than before. If I had only pulled it out by the root in the first place.
Recently, I checked out this plain looking shrub in my yard. On close inspection, it made me think of 1 Corinthians 13:12 - "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."
This is a glimpse of what this shrub will become. It shows me that I 'know in part'. In the coming weeks, this plant will be transformed into a glorious display of color, filling me with the hope of when I shall 'know fully, even as I am fully known.'

This is why I love fall~the hidden treasures of nature reveal themselves and we begin to realize the things we took for granted or never expected. Beautiful post! May this fall reveal unexpected blessings for your heart and spirit. :)

Cool.... I love you my sweet sister!
I want to say something here but also afraid i'm gonna mess it up...however it is to the effect of how even though things are taken from you Tracie... not that they are sin, but taken none the less, you keep coming back strong.. popping up more beautiful than before..if that is at all possible.
I hope this makes sense.. it does to my brain at 3 a.m. (couldn't sleep)
Again, just trying to say, how much you amaze me, you are continually letting yourself be used by God..in such a huge way. People allow themselves all the time to be used by God for one reason or another... This my sweet sister is yours.. And you do it so so well.
I adore you.. more and more everyday stinkin day.. not that days are stinkin...just a term you know i love to use...
had to throw a little humor in.. don't want your throat hurting..

Everything in this world is just partially known. We can't fully know God, each other, even our own thoughts shock us at times, and it's hard to understand our own motives. We long to really "know".
Won't that country be great? I'm sure there will still be mystery, surprise and delights, because God made us to love them, but that feeling of being "on the outside" will be banished forever.

PS Teri, I liked how you compared Tracie to that popping back shrub. You're right.

I'm not sure how I feel about Teri comparing Tracie to the popping back shrub. I mean c'mon. Tracie is more than just a weed!!!!

Just kidding, of course, it was a beautiful analogy.

Hi em- I love the fall and the beauty of the colors. One example of a way that God has blessed us with His creation.

Hi Maria - Thanks for the info, I'll check into it.

Anonymous - Oh, I like that. Is that you Ryan? Between you and my sister, you keep me guessing who writes what. Maybe you both have a hard time spelling your names.

Hi Jennifer - Thank you...isn't it wonderful how God uses his creation to reveal something from Him?
I've missed seeing you. A couple of weeks ago, at co-op, I saw you from afar. Meredith is enjoying her class with you. You make me want to read the book.

Terri - Or is it Ryan? Oh wait, you used the word 'sister', but I'm also Ryan's sister in Christ. OK, it's you Terri. Why do you have to go and say all sorts of nice things that make my throat hurt and my eyes water?
God allows all sorts of trials in our lives, that are not always easy. We have the choice to become hardened and bitter, or say 'Yes, Lord, be glorified in my life'. Either way, the trial is still there and I choose to rest and trust in Him.
It goes without saying...I love you, too, my sister.
No, I haven't had any shake today. Don't tell Gary.

Hi Michele - Yes, it'll be wonderful. Our limited minds can only go so far. I'm sure all of my preconceived notions will disappear, if I even give them a thought.

Hi Nikki - That was kinda funny how Terri turned around what I meant about it being a weed, to something good. Hey, that's what God does! "...in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

yeah, I saw your feet that week at co-op, & didn't see Michele at all. This past week I was on the look-out, & did see Michele for a few...
